Questions
Is Readovo really free?
Yes. Reading, highlights, notes, search, themes, offline use and backups are free with no limits, and there’s no sign-up.
Where are my books stored?
In your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Because of that, clearing this browser’s data (or using a private window) removes your library — download a backup file to keep a copy.
Can I read on my phone and my computer?
Yes, but each browser keeps its own library for now. To move your books, progress and notes, download a backup on one device and restore it on the other. Automatic sync is coming soon.
What’s coming next?
Optional free accounts that sync your reading position, highlights and notes across devices, and cloud plans that keep the book files themselves in your private cloud. Nothing can be purchased yet.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After you open Readovo once over a secure connection, the reader and the books you added open without internet. You can also install it from your browser menu (“Install app” or “Add to Home Screen”).
Can I read DRM-protected books?
No. Readovo opens DRM-free files: most public-domain books, many indie stores and your own documents.
Which formats and sizes are supported?
EPUB, FB2 (also .fb2.zip), TXT in common encodings and PDF, up to 300 MB per book. If a file can’t be opened, Readovo tells you why and what to try.
